Over my last several years teaching in the classroom and online, my philosophy has remained steadfast. My most basic belief is that learning and knowledge comfort one’s inner self; and fuel confidence, relational communications, and placement in the world. Knowledge diminishes our vulnerabilities and offers us an avenue of exchange with various people in countless life situations. Because of this rooted belief, I am passionate about teaching. I view the teaching of students that want to learn as a great opportunity to advance the fabric of a society, and as a job that I discovered I both excel at and enjoy.

Creating an interactive classroom atmosphere either physically or online is fraught with such challenges as boredom, information overload, defeat, technological challenges, and guiding students to think scrupulously instead of just memorizing. I am mindful of the fact that many students are teetering the dynamic of where they come from and where they want to go. I believe providing gainful instruction is a fundamental responsibility of all faculty, and I pride myself in the reputation I have built as an approachable instructor who will go above and beyond for any student with the desire to learn.
